There are a couple of approaches you can take. If you want an actual forum bot that responds in threads like a forum, you need to have either a PHP or Invisionboard forum. There may be more, but these are the only two types of boards I know of that have Alicebots adapted to them. I think both these use Program D, which is a pretty good implementation of the ALICE program. You can go to alicebot.org, or the homesites for the respective boards to find the programs. If you have another sort of board, unless you have a lot of programming experience you'll probably want to do like we've done here, and have a bot on a forum page, rather than a forum bot, per se. For Pandorabots, you can use either an iframe, or J.Durrant's flash interface (used here) to import a bot to a page in your forum. For Runabot, you have a simple copy and paste html you can insert into the header or footer of a page to create a chat interface, and you can choose between Alice, Anna(referred to as "Amy" at Runabot), or Eliza "personalities." In either of these instances, you'll have a bot on a forum, but not a forum bot as such. A bot on a forum doesn't leave permanent chat logs in the forum, itself, but it can be just as much fun for your visitors to chat with.
