Only been working with my bots for a couple of months but I now realize I need to go to a data base file instead of a flat file. Anybody worked with these before and bots? By flat files I meant text files in the bots folder with all its memory stored in them. Today ( I hope) to have word search done: Bot what does (word) mean? The bot has a 10000 word data base to look through Anyway,, just poking around for ideas and suggestions.

I imagine that a good system for filing data is as important as the specific form of them. Although written in aiml, ALICE brain files are basically just text files, too. Dr. Wallace has used both alphanumeric and topical filing systems for creating ALICE brain file sets. His preference, at the moment, seems to be leaning toward topical. It seems like this reduces the average file size and makes individual categories a litlle easier to find than the alphanumeric arrangement. But it seems to me like having a system thought out in advance is probably the key to good data management, whatever system you're comfortable with.
