Although our good friend, Nathan @ fliplevel.com. and developer of the MAC app, agreed to remove my bots a week and a half ago, “sorry I have not been in front of a computer lately, i’m traveling and do most things from my phone. I will take care of your request as soon as i get home.” this morning, I’m still getting visitors using his app.
10/01/2011 06:08:05 AM GMT Human: well your a waste of $.99. Bot: I think you meant to say, “you’re”, or YOU ARE, not “your.” That’s the possessive form as in, “Where are your keys”? If you don’t spell correctly, I can’t understand you.
If he HAS, and this is someone using an older version, then I’d think he would issue an update, as he has in the past. Users have mentioned it in his support forum.
I was finally able to receive a list of bots that are included in the Mac app. I understand that many botmasters who desire more traffic to their bot don't mind being included in this app. For those who may not wish for their bot to be included, or who may not even know they are a part of this, these are reported to be the bots currently included. I'm still working on having my bots removed.

If your bot is on the list and you'd like it removed, or if it's NOT on this list, but you'd like to be included, contact Nathan at firstname.lastname@example.org
If your bot is already included in the app, or if you'd like it to be included, there are a couple of things you might wish to be aware of.
First, there's an ongoing discussion at chatbots.org regarding copyright and the ethical use of Pandorabots, especially since the owner is charging a fee for his app. An additional concern I have is that since I don't own a Mac computer, I can't download or view the app.
What might be important to botmasters who have gone beyond having a text bot and are now using some kind of a visual presentation, an HTML page, sound or music, showing pictures or searching the web, talking heads, etc., the developer has admitted:
As far as the multimedia aspect of the bot - you are correct my version is stripped down text only. I use XML-RPC. What I was thinking of doing for bots like yours that have multimedia was to include a text with a link to see the full interactive version on your website.
One of the reasons I've asked for my five bots to be removed is that they won't be responding the way I've intended them to perform, and I won't be able to check their replies because I can't acquire the app.
I like this guy, but he's seriously misguided. He says he's disabled my bots, and then, he went on to say:
Whenever I get the time to build the new version where users add the bots themselves, I can't guarantee your bots won't appear again.
I'm really tired of this, and before I'll let someone steal my bots again, something I've worked on for the last six years, I'll delete my bots, close my Pandorabots account, and turn the AI Nexus Forum over to the existing co-administrators.
Although the developer agreed to "deactivate" my bots in his Mac App, I'm still seeing indications that people are accessing my bots, thinking they are a different bot.
In more than one conversation, people would call my bot Amy, Cleopatra, and iEinstein would be called god. Neither of which are my bots.
I thought that these bots might be adjacent to mine on the list, and people might be clicking on my bots by mistake, but I see now that those bots aren't next to mine.
I'm still seeing exchanges like this:
[10/13/2011 10:09:19 PM GMT - 62.255.232.xxx] Human: are you Anna iEinstein: No, I'm iEinstein
Anna is a bot included in the app.
While it's not uncommon for someone to ask, "Are you ALICE?" the above exchange leads me to believe that this is a person who may be using the Mac app, and that my bots are still included in that version.
I suppose it could be because some people are using an older version where my bots still appear, but I would have thought that if the developer released an update to people who already paid for it, that they'd no longer be able to contact my bot using the app.
It seems that once you get included in one of these things, it's difficult to get out.
